Announcements and Reminders

We welcome you on this first Sunday in October – Communion Sunday.  We pray that God will bless and encourage you today as you
worship and as we join together at His table to remember Christ.  It is also Deacon’s Fund Sunday.  This is a discretionary fund used  by the
Pastor to meet various needs in the community and congregation.

We welcome today to new membership – Kathy Bragan, Carolyn Loomes, Pastor Gary and Nancy Johnson and Ruth Hammer.  Be sure to
give a hearty blessing and extend the right hand of fellowship to them after the service.

Remember to bring non-perishable food items next Sunday to church to give to the Salvation Army.  It is Sacrifice Sunday next week.

Our WORLD MISSIONS OFFERING began last Sunday.  This year’s theme is “Rise to the Challenge!”  Many nations are crying out for
help.  There are urgent needs all over the world!  We can rise to the challenge by giving financially, praying for our missionaries and
actively embacing the cause of Christ in our community and globally.  This American Baptist offering is the largest offering that we
participate in during the year.  Our church goal is $2,000 in offerings and then we would like to raise an additional $2,000 in fund raisers
during the year enabling our church to give $4,000 total to World Missions for the year.  Please prayerfully read the insert  and consider
what the Lord would have you do to help this year.  There are special envelopes in the pew racks for this offering.
 Announcements and Reminders continued …

Please mark your calendars for meetings this week:
* Mon. – 1:30 PM  Missions Committee Meeting
* Mon. – 6:30 PM  Board Meeting

The Worship Committee meeting that was scheduled for this week has been cancelled.

A Deacon’s Meeting is scheduled for next week, Wed. the 15th at 7:00 PM.

ABCOM ANNUAL MEETING is in two weeks!  Don’t miss out on some wonderful speakers and the all convention banquet buffet
(Country Chicken Pot Pie) is on Friday night with Dr. Bill and Ann Clemmer speaking.  (They are our missionaries to South Africa.)  The
deadline for meal reservation is this Friday, October 10th.   Registration forms are on the back of the insert or on their website listed on the
insert.  Don’t miss it!

We still need volunteers that would be interested in helping at the ABCOM convention.  Please tear off the side strip on the bulletin and
write your name and “volunteer for ABCOM” and put it in the offering plate.  Thank you!
